Will sum up everything as fast as I can. hands, legs & everything paining
Well the journey started off with me still wanting to have 2 pegs b4 I climb the bus. Nai Roast who was supposed drink with me got stuck at office beacuse of rains. Then met Killer, he was looking for an ATM. Just a casual talk later, told him about a wonderful place called Amrut. Headed of and had my 2 pegs while he had beer. After some frantic calls frm the organrisers that the bus is about to leave went back & boarded the bus. Finally started off & we were informed that we will be taking the Old Madras road instead of Hosur Road. Twas a real bumpy ride & got no sleep thru the ride. Reached Chennai at 5AM. While all the newbies went to take a look at the TRACK, managed to sleep peacefully for an hour or so. Next bad news after a sleepless nite was that, due to some screwups there was no acco & we had to manage everythign at the track.
Well a man needs to have his morning dump. Ran out of water half way thru the process. Next scene was sitting on the potty in the track & calling Anil to please come & help me get some water. Anil I really owe U one for that :)
Myself & Anil were in the thrid group, it started off at around 10. Took off and suddenly I just hear the bike revving like mad & not moving. Then brain sends signal “U F***ing moron this is R15 not Bullet, the brake is on the other side”. By then the rest of the crowd is already gone. Start riding then somehow managed to come second - 4 seconds behind Alisha.
Then comes the Qualifying round. I was places somewhere in middle of the group. Again screwed up while trying to launch the bike & end up last. The pain being a 3 lap race I really have to ride. then managed to catch up rest of the 19 ppl and came 4th. Got a shirt & t-shirt. hot full paisa vasool  now can relax.
Then now comes the Semi-Finals. After a nice lunch of Thayir Sadam & feeling all drowsy, had a smoke & settled down quitely in my corner. Absolutely no mood to race or whatever. Anyway have to ride, so as usual placed again in the last in the grid. I take a look at the guys in the grp & see all Pro, half of them are SBK riders. I was placed right behind Killer, as usual pleading everyone to wait for me, don’t rush off etc.. Had an excellent launch with the wheel popping out in the first two gears. Next come the turn C2 - panic very badly seeing the rest of the ppl & just hit the brakes. ega.jpgI let everyone go. All professional riders, why mess with them. Anyway managed to catch up with the most of them and ended up 6 - getting qualified for finals. I had no hopes in FInals since I was in the last line of the grid. Screw up the launch again, I look around and see - everyone is gone :-o & I look like a joke on the track. Anyway decided to ride again. Lap one - I am still in the last. Lap two managed to get into the 10 position. Lap three was a realization that I am not going to ride for sometime again, then started pushing. its quite a tough job because these guys are pro & they don’t let ppl go past them, they elbow, run into you etc.. Managed to overtake most of them in the final lap (lap 3) and overtook the guy in the fourth position just 100 meters before the chequered flag. Twas nice fun.
After seeing me ride, ppl did ask me to participate in the national championships next week which I am still contemplating. 4 day to go. I never did actually push hard since I was wearing our local Ambur boots & my fav Honeymoon gloves. Hopefully my boots & gloves will land sometime at the end of this month.
Can never thank Anil & Dom enough for the ciggies & an endless supply of gatorade. So now need to think if I am going next weekend. Missed the RTMC gang there :)
